COVA Group Services

COVA Group

COVA is a built environment professional services firm working directly for asset owners and developers. Founded in Australia in 1979, we work from 16 offices in 14 countries across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and Africa. We are big enough for any project, and not so big that we behave like a corporate.

COVA Group's four service lines cover the full project lifecycle:

  • Project Advisory
  • Commercial Management
  • Project & Construction Management
  • Engineering

One appointed COVA team carries a project from feasibility to handover. Because cost, programme and engineering sit in the same practice, decisions are priced and scheduled as they are made, not reconciled afterwards.

We are clear, practical and easy to work with, and we respect your time, your budget and your priorities.

We keep delivery simple,
so your project lands on cost and on programme.
Engineering Better Lives.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What does a building services engineer do?
Building services engineers design the systems that make a building work, in essence we bring buildings to life: heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical power and lighting, hydraulics (water, sanitary plumbing and gas) and fire protection. At COVA these disciplines are designed as an integrated whole, so the systems perform together, comply with the relevant codes and are practical to build and maintain, whilst delivering comfortable and energy-efficient environments.
What services does COVA Group provide?
COVA Group provides services across the full project lifecycle: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire engineering; quantity surveying, commercial and cost management; and project and construction management. Our advisory services span feasibility assessment, technical and financial due diligence and independent peer review.
When should we engage an engineering consultant on a project?
The earlier COVA is engaged, the more value we add. At feasibility and concept design, engineering realities - plant space, authority requirements, energy targets and budget - can still shape the design at little cost. Early engagement also front-loads risk: existing authority and site infrastructure are assessed before they become constraints, so mitigation is planned rather than reactive.
What is quantity surveying and cost management?
Quantity surveyors measure, estimate and manage construction cost across a project's life: from early cost planning and value engineering through procurement advice to progress claim assessment. COVA Cambodia is regulated by RICS, and delivers budget-aligned, innovative outcomes across the commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality and industrial sectors across Australia and Southeast Asia.
Can COVA peer review another consultant's design?
Yes. Independent peer review is part of COVA's advisory services. Each review is a structured assessment of design documentation for compliance, coordination, buildability and performance, with clear and actionable findings reported.
Where does COVA work?
COVA delivers projects across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. These regions are served by our offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, Auckland, Singapore, Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Manila, Taipei and Tokyo, with further offices in Limerick, Centurion, Freetown, and Kampala.
