Tasmania's Next Iconic Walk
Project scope
COVA has a long history of successful projects with JAWS Architects and Parks Tasmania, continuing with ongoing work on the Tasmania's Next Iconic Walk project.
The walk opens up the landscape of the Tyndall Range on Tasmania's west coast, designed for a maximum capacity of around 9,000 visitors a year. To keep the experience wild and sustainable, departures are limited to around 30 people a day in roofed accommodation and 20 a day camping.
COVA's design covers base building hydraulic services, fire services, HVAC plant, ventilation, air conditioning, data, general power and lighting. The project is staged, incorporating decanting works and strategic timing to minimise disruption to the wilderness sites.
