Ground was broken for the Singapore Temple on Saturday 28 June 2025, with Elder Kelly R. Johnson, First Counsellor in the Asia Area Presidency, presiding. More than 500 members and friends attended on site and at other locations. Guests included Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Education and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration, and Prof (Adj) Datuk Dr Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar, President of Jamiyah, alongside other government, interfaith and community leaders.

COVA’s involvement began before the project was committed, with real estate due diligence on the site of an existing Church meetinghouse at 233 Pasir Panjang Road. With the temple now in construction, our team provides commercial management (quantity surveying) and construction management, including design management, through to completion. The temple, announced in April 2021, will be a two-storey building of approximately 18,000 square feet on a one-acre site, with a meetinghouse and arrival centre alongside. It is the first temple in Singapore, where the Church has been present since 1968 and now has more than 3,000 members. Elder Johnson said the temple “will make a difference for the entire community. It will bring a light to the community that hasn’t been here before.”
