The Phnom Penh Cambodia Temple was dedicated on Sunday 30 August 2026 by Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, the first temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cambodia. Elder Kearon was joined by Sister Jennifer Kearon; Elder I. Raymond Egbo, General Authority Seventy and Assistant Executive Director of the Temple Department, and Sister Comfort Egbo; and Elder David L. Buckner, General Authority Seventy and member of the Asia Area Presidency, and Sister Jennifer Buckner.
For COVA, the dedication marks a first of our own: this is the first temple COVA has delivered end to end. COVA Cambodia’s involvement ran from real estate due diligence before the site was committed, through commercial management (quantity surveying) and project and construction management, to completion and handover. Announced in October 2018 and with ground broken in September 2021, the temple stands on a 1.3-hectare site on Russian Federation Boulevard, its spire rising some 35 metres above the city. A public open house from 15 to 22 August 2026 preceded the dedication. Cambodia is home to more than 17,000 Latter-day Saints in 31 congregations.
Elder Kearon said: “We are in a land that has known extraordinary pain, hardship, loss and despair. It is so fitting that the Lord has seen to provide a house here which will draw our hands and hearts far beyond the trials of mortality and into eternity.”
