Getting to know Sopanha Can you share a little about your background and what led to your current role at COVA? As a Senior Project Coordinator at COVA, I bring a background in Civil Engineering, having graduated from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC).
In 2012, my journey began with practical experience gained during my university years, working with a local contractor on reinforcement concrete and Pre-stressed Concrete arrangement and installation on site
Joining COVA in July 2013, I contributed to the AEON Mall One project, a pivotal experience where the training and support of the country director and the project manager enabled me to balance work and university, leading to my graduation in July 2014.
Subsequently, I worked closely with the quantity surveying team, benefiting from their mentorship in commercial aspects and professional stakeholder communication.
What inspired you to pursue a career in COVA Asia?
A strong sense of belonging to the business and open communication inspires me to develop new ideas of growth for myself as well as for COVA Asia.
How long have you been in the industry and what are some key milestones in your career?
Today marked 12 years of work experience with COVA. I am driven by a continuous desire to learn and grow, and I value the knowledge shared by my management team and all stakeholders.
Can you describe your role and key responsibilities at COVA?
I am currently involved in the Advisory services offered by COVA Asia by handling a few tasks of the Technical Due Diligence & Site Analysis for Client’s properties in Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, Africa, and some countries in the South Pacific Ocean.
What excites you the most about your role at COVA?
I genuinely enjoy the dynamic nature of my daily tasks, as each day presents new and exciting opportunities for learning and contribution.
How does your role contribute to the growth and success of COVA?
By having a mindset of wanting to learn and grow, this allows me to bring new ideas and new ways of improving processes within the projects I am involved in.

With the team, we worked hard on a humanitarian project in Siem Reap and we are proud to see the construction progress.

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy cooking, and I love researching how to raise happy and healthy children, especially as a mother of two young ones.
