Neeson Cripps Academy Phnom Penh
Project scope
COVA delivered project and construction management, commercial management and FF&E supply for the Neeson Cripps Academy, a joint venture of the Cambodian Children's Fund and Velcro Companies in the heart of Phnom Penh's former garbage-dump community.
Designed pro bono by New York firm CookFox Architects and fully funded by Velcro, the school gives Cambodian children access to education that would otherwise be out of reach.
The building works with the climate: natural ventilation, low-energy lighting, bamboo and terracotta solar shading, open-air learning spaces, a covered multi-purpose court, and a rooftop garden that cuts heat gain and stormwater runoff.
