COVA has been engaged to provide Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, and Hydraulic engineering design for the latest and greatest offering from Australian Venue Co. (AVC) - Cove Bar at Customs House.
Built in 1844, the historic and iconic Customs House is a Commonwealth and NSW heritage-listed landmark, museum space, commercial office and visitor attraction, located at 45 Alfred Street, Circular Quay.
AVC initially engaged COVA to perform a site audit to determine what was possible, given the site was left dormant since the COVID period in 2020.
The COVA team performed an excellent investigation and confirmed that the AVC vision was indeed possible.
Currently, the design is at the concept stage to support the upgrade of a commercial kitchen, 2 x mobile external bar areas, restaurant, Back-of-House, and cold storage facilities.
The team have particularly excelled in providing AVC support through the heritage coordination process, offering innovative design to avoid heritage impact, additional cost and delays.
