Allan Waitzer

Chairman, COVA Group | Team Leader - NSW

Allan is Chairman of the COVA Group of Companies and leads COVA’s NSW office. A Principal Electrical Engineer with more than 40 years’ experience, he has led electrical, telecommunications and dry fire services design across health, education, retail, commercial, residential and recreational projects throughout Australia.

His portfolio includes West Side Place and M-City in Melbourne, and the Hobart Aquatic Centre and Hobart Private Hospital in Tasmania: strategic infrastructure planning, emergency power systems and value engineering that holds up in operation.

Allan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from RMIT, is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), and is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

The Hobart Private Hospital relationship in his portfolio spans more than two decades of building services work for Healthscope: the original seven-storey, 146-bed hospital, then four new theatres, CSSD, angiography and radiology suites, an emergency unit, a maternity ward and a critical care unit, and most recently the staged replacement of the central chiller plant, sequenced so the operating theatres never stopped.
