Luddenham Recycling Park, Sydney

Luddenham Recycling Park is a proposed fully enclosed 13,000sqm warehouse, purpose built to recycle construction & demolition waste. As a long-term multi-generational asset, it is to be of a premium-grade standard and quality. The park’s strategic location near the new Western Sydney Aerotropolis positions it to play a crucial role in handling waste generated by ongoing construction. The Western Sydney Aerotropolis is a major economic centre in Western Sydney, driven by its proximity to the new Western Sydney International Airport (Nancy-Bird Walton Airport). Forecasts indicate substantial growth in the surrounding area due to the Aerotropolis development activities.

As infrastructure projects like the Aerotropolis attract businesses and drive economic activity, there will likely be increased construction and demolition activities in the vicinity.

Facilities like the Luddenham Recycling Park will play a critical role in efficiently managing waste generated by these development projects. The park’s focus on recycling aligns with the broader sustainability goals of the Aerotropolis and the region.

COVA is engaged to complete the wet fire sprinkler system design to comply with AS2118 for the proposed construction waste processing facility.

COVA have recently completed similar works at the Newcastle Organics Facility, so the team are familiar with the facility requirements. This Luddenham facility has the added of a materials handling processing plant, which has multiple complex networks of conveyors - adding a layer complexity to the sprinkler design requirements for the conveyor and platform overhangs.

Associated works include an adjoining office building (including fitout), staff amenities, water treatment facilities, civil works and site servicing.

This project is a great start for COVA to be involved on projects within this rapidly growing area of Sydney
